The Vision

A homeowner in Woodbine, Maryland, had been dreaming of replacing her aging deck and shed for years. The old structure, which included a shed underneath the deck, had become unsafe due to rotting wood and issues with the previous water-carrying system. Additionally, the shed had become a home for unwanted pests, including snakes. After being referred to Classic Remodeling by a neighbor, the homeowner came to the team with a clear vision and detailed drawings of what she wanted—a brand new deck, a screened-in room, and an updated outdoor space that would serve both practical and aesthetic purposes.

The Solution

Classic Remodeling worked closely with the homeowner to bring her vision to life. The project included a complete replacement of the deck and the construction of a screened-in room. A Trex RainEscape water management system was installed to prevent future water damage. The new deck was built using Trex Transcend® decking in the Lava Rock color, known for its durability and rich appearance. The porch roof was finished with CertainTeed Landmark Pro shingles in Moire Black, ensuring both performance and curb appeal. Inside and outside the enclosure, the team used white Versatex vinyl boards to cap the fascia, rake, beam, and perimeter, giving the structure a clean and polished finish.

To enhance the functionality of the space, Classic Remodeling installed new doors throughout the home, including a ProVia kitchen door, Andersen French doors for both the basement and dining room, and a double window. The ceiling of the screen room featured CertainTeed soffit, and the shed was updated with CertainTeed board and batten siding. The screen itself was made with durable fiberglass material using the Screeneze system. For safety and aesthetics, Superior 200 Series railings were added.

The Result

The entire project was completed in about four weeks, meeting every detail of the homeowner’s plan. She was thrilled with the results, stating that Classic Remodeling made her dreams come true.
