Alside Ascend Siding Transformation in Glen Burnie, MD

Glen Burnie split-level after, charcoal Alside Ascend siding and stone facade.

Transforming a split-level home for half the expected cost

We first met Mr. and Mrs. Good at a local home show. They were hesitant to move forward after another company quoted them nearly $100,000 for new doors and siding. Their wish list called for a bold, modern look with the stone detailing they'd always dreamed of, but they didn't think it was possible within their budget. After reviewing their goals, we built a plan that met their vision and cut the price in half, without compromising quality, durability, or curb appeal.

Challenges

  • Outdated beige siding with visible wear and fading
  • A flat, undefined front entry lacking architectural character
  • A plain foundation wall contributing to a "boxy" look
  • A worn storm door and main entry door that no longer fit their desired style

Our solution

We removed the old door, storm door, frame, and siding, then installed Alside Ascend siding in Coal Black with Snow Mist accents for striking, modern contrast. The entry was rebuilt around a ProVia Heritage fiberglass door in Coal Black with a nickel Georgian-style handle, paired with a ProVia Deluxe storm door with frost glass and a FrameSaver threshold. Side pilasters with a crosshead now frame the entry, and CertainTeed StoneFacade in Adirondack Snowfall was applied to the lower portion of the home for rich texture and depth.

Results

The transformation featured bold charcoal siding, crisp white trim, black shutters, and an elegant stone accent wall. The refreshed entryway now commands attention and complements the updated facade perfectly, delivered for about half the price the homeowners had originally been quoted.
