"Nick and Classic Remodeling just finished a big siding job on our house and it was a very good experience overall. Nick clearly knows his business. Their prices were competitive, and their contract terms were fair. The actual siding work came out looking really good. There were a couple of minor issues after the initial work was completed, but Nick did a great job resolving things quickly and professionally. Next time we need exterior work done on the property we are going to call Nick & Classic Remodeling first."

Signs that you may need a new roof can often go unnoticed for long periods of time. Common indicators include shingles found in your yard, which suggest the roofing material is loosening or failing. Leaks on upper levels of your home or water stains on ceilings can signal that moisture is penetrating beneath the shingles, underlayment, or ice and water shield. Buckling or curling shingles are also a concern, as they indicate warping from prolonged sun exposure and other exterior elements, ultimately leading to shingle failure. For asphalt roofs, excessive granule loss in gutters or downspouts is another subtle but important sign that replacement may be needed. In some cases, the roof's age alone may warrant replacement. Lastly, if multiple homes in your neighborhood are replacing their roofs, it may be a good time to schedule an inspection or consultation.
We recommend using an Architectural shingle like CertainTeed Landmark or Owens Corning TruDefinition for your home rather than a 3-tab standardized shingle. Various warranties, and manufacturer backed labor warranties allow for the best possible material to be on your home at a better value.
A new roof is your home's first line of defense. Roof replacement is one of the top home improvements for resale value. Buyers feel confident knowing they won't face a major expense anytime soon. A new roof can improve curb appeal, energy efficiency, and withstand higher winds and severe weather, especially important in Maryland's changing climate.
Warranties depend on a variety of factors such as manufacturer, installation practice, and contractor certifications. At Classic Remodeling, we are a CertainTeed ShingleMaster, and CertainTeed offers a 50 year non-prorated warranty in addition to their algae protection, and hurricane protection warranties, typically ranging between an additional 10-20 years on various products. This way, you know you are covered!
Yes. These applications are essential in preventing leaks and maintenance issues from occurring following installation. Additionally, most manufacturers of roofing materials require you to utilize their roofing system (shingles, underlayment, and ice and water shield) in order to maximize their warranty for your new roof.
An underlayment is a synthetic paper that rests over your plywood as a barrier between your shingles, and ice and water shield to add as an additional moisture protection. Also, some materials of underlayment tend to add towards thermal insulation, and may increase energy efficiency. Ask your representative when we come out!
Ice and water shield is essential to your roof as the last line of defense. This system is a waterproofing, self-adhering material that covers any area in which more than one piece of plywood at different angles come together, typically, valleys or gutter edges. This system ultimately prevents water from seeping into your home creating a water tight seal!
Yes, we can absolutely cover your roof! We understand how concerning it can be to have an exposed roof. While we do not typically offer temporary tarping as a standalone service, in certain situations we can install a temporary tarp as part of an upcoming roofing or repair project to help protect the home from further weather exposure.
Yes, many roof replacements can be covered by insurance when damage is caused by a qualifying event like hail, wind, storms, or falling debris. Normal wear and tear or aging is typically not covered. We can assist you with this process by inspecting your roof, documenting damage, and working with your insurance adjuster to ensure all qualifying damage is properly addressed. We can also help you understand your coverage, deductibles, and timelines, since claims often have strict filing deadlines.
The cost of a roof replacement can vary based on several factors, including the materials selected, removal of the existing roof, the size and complexity of the roof, extra repairs and any custom features or upgrades. Each home is different, which is why pricing is not one-size-fits-all.
At Classic Remodeling, most asphalt shingle roof replacements typically fall within the $6,000–$15,000 range, depending on the scope of work. We provide detailed inspections and clear estimates so you understand exactly what's included before moving forward.
